A Breakfast Chef prepares, cooks, and presents high-quality breakfast items (hot, cold, and buffet) to luxury standards. They manage morning service independently or within a team, ensuring consistent food quality, strict hygiene compliance (HACCP), and prompt service to guests.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and present breakfast dishes (à la carte and buffet) to the highest standards.
• Oversee the breakfast buffet setup, replenishment, and maintenance of food freshness.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, and maintain a spotless kitchen environment.
• Set up, maintain, and sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment before and after service.
• Assist in menu planning, suggesting seasonal items, and ensuring consistent quality.
• Manage stock levels, rotation, and minimize food waste.
• Monitor food stock levels, report shortages, and assist with inventory management.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely order completion.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean and functioning properly.
Requirements
• Proven experience in a 5-star hotel, luxury hotel, or fine dining kitchen.
• Comprehensive knowledge of hot and cold breakfast cooking techniques.
• Culinary school diploma or relevant certification preferred.
•
• Formal culinary education and food hygiene certificates (HACCP for example)
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Availability for early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 20kg).
