Troistorrents
As the gateway to the Val d’Illiez, the Municipality of Troistorrents covers an area of 37 km² and extends from an altitude of 560 metres to 2,152 metres above sea level, opening both towards the Rhône Valley and the surrounding mountains. Its administrative centre, the village of Troistorrents, is situated at an altitude of 765 metres. The municipality can be reached by car within a few minutes from Monthey or by public transport via the regional services of the Transports Publics du Chablais.
Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed by the magnificent Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Church, consecrated in 1702, which overlooks the village. They can also discover the municipality’s rich cultural heritage, including the Old Mills Museum of La Tine and the carefully restored traditional bread ovens.
Numerous hiking trails invite visitors to explore the village, its surroundings, and the rich natural environment that characterises the region, particularly its waterways and streams.
With the resort of Morgins, the municipality reveals its tourist and sporting identity. Morgins is part of the international Portes du Soleil ski area and belongs to the "Région Dents du Midi" tourism destination, together with the two other municipalities of the Val d’Illiez, Val-d’Illiez and Champéry.
Situated at an altitude of 1,300 metres, Morgins offers a wide range of activities throughout the year. In winter, enthusiasts of alpine skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing can enjoy an extensive outdoor playground in an exceptional alpine setting.
The summer season is equally diverse, with numerous mountain biking and hiking routes. Whether exploring the themed trails of the Vallon de They, hiking to the summit of Pointe de Bellevue to admire panoramic views over the Rhône Valley and Lake Geneva, or venturing towards the iconic Dents du Midi mountain range, visitors will discover a remarkably varied landscape.
The municipality provides an ideal environment for exploration, relaxation, leisure, and well-being, offering countless opportunities to recharge in nature.
