Active in all areas of modern medicine
Valais Hospital was created in 2004 from the merger of 10 institutions. With 5,400 employees, it is the biggest employer in the canton. It consists of two hospital centres (Upper Valais and Lower Valais) and a Central Institute of Hospitals (Zentralinstitut der Spitäler – ZIS). The ZIS provides interdisciplinary services for all areas and locations of Valais Hospital, in particular for laboratory medicine, hospital pharmacies, medical consultation hours, epidemiology and information technology.
