Trient
The municipality of Trient lies at the northern edge of the Mont Blanc massif. As the largest municipality in the District of Martigny, it serves as a gateway between Valais and the renowned Chamonix Valley in France. Stretching across the upper part of the valley and shaped by the Trient and Eau Noire rivers, the municipality boasts an exceptional natural setting. Trient can be reached either via the scenic international road over the Col de la Forclaz or by the historic Mont-Blanc Express, a spectacular mountain railway linking Martigny and Chamonix along a route that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Alpine landscape.
