Bovernier

Bovernier is a municipality in the Canton of Valais with approximately 900 inhabitants. It is located at the entrance to the Val d’Entremont, above Martigny, on the route leading to the Great St. Bernard Pass.

The municipality consists of two main localities, Les Valettes and Bovernier, as well as the hamlets in the Champex Valley (Vallon de Champex).

Its residents, known as the Bovernions, bear the nickname “Vouipes”, which means “wasps” in French.
