Saint-Martin
The Municipality of Saint-Martin, located in the heart of the Val d’Hérens, extends across both sides of the valley. Set in an idyllic and exceptionally sunny environment, Saint-Martin offers a remarkable diversity of landscapes within an unspoilt natural setting: from high alpine mountains and the warm spring of Combioula to forests and lush alpine pastures.
The municipality also boasts outstanding social assets, including an exceptional quality of life and a vibrant, exemplary community spirit supported by numerous local associations. In addition, Saint-Martin is characterized by a diverse economy and is home to many local businesses.
Situated at an average altitude of 1,400 metres above sea level, the municipality covers an area of 3,696 hectares and has a population of approximately 850 residents. Located less than 30 minutes from the Rhône Valley plain, Saint-Martin is well connected by the PostBus network.
Saint-Martin consists of nine authentic villages and hamlets: Suen, Saint-Martin, Trogne, Eison, La Crettaz d’Eison, Liez, Praz-Jean, La Luette, and La Crêta d’Euseigne.
