Verbier International School is a fast growing, ambitious international school in the Swiss Alps. As part of the Dukes Education family, VIS combines academic rigour with strong pastoral care, outdoor education and a distinctive mountain ethos.
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an outstanding Head of Competitive Sport to drive performance sport and inter school competition from September 2026.
This is a focused and energetic leadership role. The successful candidate will build a structured, ambitious competitive programme that reflects the standards and identity of VIS.

The Role
The Head of Competitive Sport will:
Lead and coordinate all competitive team sports fixtures
Enter appropriate leagues and competitions locally and internationally
Develop a clear inter school fixtures calendar across age groups
Oversee team selection, coaching standards and match preparation
Work closely with the Director of Sport to align competitive and participation pathways
Work closely with the Head of Academics to ensure strong alignment between sporting commitments and academic expectations
Support performance monitoring and progression pathways
Contribute to the continued development of our ski race and performance sport identity
Ensure high standards of organisation, communication and safeguarding
This role requires strong logistical skills, high energy and a clear understanding of structured school sport.
The ability to teach IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science would be an advantage.

Has experience organising and leading competitive school sport
Understands league entry, fixtures coordination and inter school competition structures
Can manage teams, expectations and performance standards
Is confident working alongside senior leaders to support both academic and sporting outcomes
Communicates clearly and professionally with parents and colleagues
Thrives in a growing and ambitious school environment
International school experience is advantageous.
