Wiler

Wiler lies in the Lötschental, a typical Alpine valley nestled between the Bernese and Valais Alps. The Lötschental is about 30km long and is thus the largest of the Valais side valleys which branch off north of the Rhone. The striking mountain peaks with their larch-covered foothills seem to cradle the villages in their arms. The tourist infrastructure blends in beautifully with the municipality’s cosy architectural style, while rushing streams and quiet lakes set the tone. Situated at an altitude of 3,934m above sea level, the imposing Bietschhorn mountain is visible from afar and is the Lötschental’s local mountain.

Located in the heart of the valley, Wiler is the perfect place to live for families and sports enthusiasts. At 1,970m above sea level, it is the starting point of the cable car to Lauchernalp. On Lauchernalp, there is a wonderful skiing, hiking and activity area that is suitable for skiers and hikers of all fitness levels. The “Gschteinät” leisure facility in the valley also offers plenty of options for an enjoyable day.

The winter sports paradise of Lauchernalp makes for an inviting destination in the colder months, with guaranteed snow and excellent transport connections. The sun-kissed ski area offers 55km of pistes up to 3,111m above sea level and includes an exceptional freeride area. A cable car, three chair lifts, a ski lift and a glacier lift are available to connect you to the magnificent slopes of Lauchernalp. There is an impressive mountain view featuring 40 four-thousand-metre peaks to accompany you along your way.
