Oberems
Oberems is a municipality of Pfyn-Finges nature park and lies on the left side of the Rhone Valley, where the view extends across to the imposing mountain ranges of the Bernese Alps. The village at the beginning of the Turtmann valley can be reached by cable car from Turtmann as well as via a well-maintained road. Beautiful hiking trails, charming mountain tours and a magnificent view of the Rhone Valley are just a few of the municipality’s highlights.
It is also well worth stopping by to see the old chapel (1702), the communal bread-baking oven and the village fountain. The mill and sawmill are currently undergoing restoration to help people learn about the craft and about timber and the forest in general.
Oberems has a shop with fresh produce, and is home to a beautiful children’s playground with a barbecue area and a multifunctional sports field.
