Gampel-Bratsch

Gampel-Bratsch offers outstanding quality of life for families, as well as extremely diverse and comprehensive services in the commercial and service sectors. The municipality’s attractiveness is further enhanced by the provision of extrafamilial childcare and an educational offer that covers the entire compulsory schooling period. There are excellent public transport connections to the urban centres Visp, Brig, Sierre and Sion. The local recreation area stretching from the Rhone to Jeizinen and beyond offers a host of possibilities for winter and summer sports activities.

Gampel-Bratsch is the birthplace of Lonza, a global chemicals group that recognised the municipality’s advantages early on: the company was founded in Gampel in 1897 and its first factory was opened here. For many small and medium-sized businesses offering expertise and services, Gampel-Bratsch still provides optimal conditions today.

Gampel-Bratsch has plenty to offer on a cultural level, too: Lonzamarkt, GampelJazz, Rock ufum Bärg, Klassik in Jeizinen, Gnooggär Füüdini and, last but not least, the best music festival in Switzerland, Open Air Gampel.
